TPS News & Events

In previous news articles, we informed the members of the Safety Grant Program and encouraged them to take advantage of this opportunity for FREE MONEY. We have received several questions asking what items/equipment qualify for this program. I have listed just a few of the items that might be approved.

•    AED’s (Automatic Defibrillators)
•    SCBA (Self Contained Breathing Apparatus)
•    PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) gloves, hard hats, safety glasses, etc.
•    Emergency Eyewash Stations
•    Flammable Liquid Storage Cabinets
•    First Aid Supplies
•    Wet Floor Signs
•    Lightning Suppression
•    Body Armor (law enforcement)
•    Two-way communication radios (law enforcement)
•    Package Training Modules/Programs
•    CAT (catalytic converter) clamps
•    Vehicle backup cameras

This list is not all-encompassing, but I wanted to give the membership direction on what could be considered. One of the reasons applications are rejected is that the requests do not correspond with the particular line of coverage provided by TPS. If we provide the workers’ compensation, the request should fall under PPE. Property should align with the property coverage, and liability should be the same. If you have questions about whether your request corresponds with your coverage, please get in touch with your loss control representative for clarification.

Don’t miss your opportunity for FREE MONEY as part of the Safety Grant Program! We have had a great response to this program so far, but all at Texas Political Subdivisions JSIF (TPS) would hate for you to miss out on your chance at this FREE MONEY!

The goal of this program is to help make high-cost items more affordable. This equals FREE money for the member. This program can fund or partially fund safety items that will assist in reducing or preventing injuries, property losses, workers’ compensation claims, and liability claims. The deadline to apply is rapidly approaching. All applications must be received by the end of business on April 30, 2024. If you have any questions concerning your requests, do not hesitate to contact me or your loss control representative. For complete details, click the boxes below. Please don’t miss YOUR chance at this FREE money (did we mention it was FREE?).
